and husband Mike's ministry goal is to mobilize the Church to reached unreached peoples.
This means educating, discipling, and providing avenues for Christians
to get involved in the great work that God is doing all over the globe,
particularly in places where no Christian witness exists.
Thank you for your prayers! My trip to Southern California to teach at the Perspectives class was a wonderful trip and experience. I was so blessed by the energy of the students there, and it was wonderful to get to know the Perspectives coordinators and to see how they do things.
Next week starts the Perspectives classes here in the Pittsburgh area, Monday evenings at Pittsburgh Seminary and Tuesday evenings at New Wilmington Presbyterian Church. I always look forward to meeting the new students and seeing what God will do in their lives throughout the semester. Perspectives is a life changing discipleship class, and it is my joy to coordinate and lead students through that process! Please pray for the students who register, that their hearts will be prepared for the ways God wants to shape their thinking and motivation for mission.
My ministry with World Mission Initiative is growing! I receive more invitations every month to teach or present at churches, and I'll be helping with some additional programs including the "Discerning Your Call to Mission" event and the Mission Conference next Spring at the Seminary. My hours and pay will be increased this Fall as I build my responsibilities. Please pray as I seek additional financial support for my growing ministry. I am seeking $3,000 of support to cover for this past year and then an additional $5,000 for the coming year.
I greatly appreciate your prayers for my pastoral ministry in Utica as well. God is really moving in the congregation with great energy to reach out to young people and refresh our worship style. We'll also be re-starting our after-school program in a few weeks. Pray God's blessing on the changes in worship and on the youth ministry for this Fall. Pray for God to give me wisdom as I lead these changes and work to equip lay leaders for the youth and children's ministry.
And on a personal note, Mike and I have been with only one car for the past 2 weeks. We've learned that the computer system in our Nissan needs replaced, which is a rather expensive repair. Please pray for God's provision, not only to pay for the repairs, but that we can both get to where we need to be in the meantime.
Thank you for remembering to pray for us! Thank you for the encouragement and support you give!
Blessings,
Jen
