Building the Future...

Straight from Jamaica...

It was amazing yesterday with the kids at the sports field. Kids just came (literally) out of the woods and played soccer, jump rope, etc.; and then our kids did their skits, songs, and explained the gospel.

At the infirmary, it is an awesome impact to see the elderly people (some have been in bed for 24 years...) and some children cannot walk and are lying on mattresses in corners with flies, etc. All they want is for you to hold their hand and read to them or talk to them about their families.

We also visited with a Girls Home where the teenagers there are criminals and some get arrested on purpose just so they can get out of their homes. We have encountered Rastafarians who are adamant about their religion, their false god, and their "gonja" (marijuana). You can literally smell it in the streets.

It has been hard emotionally. But our teenagers (and leaders) have been and are being impacted and changed because of it. Get ready for them to come back and for the church to be impacted!! Anyway, we will tell more when we get back! We may not have another chance to email but who knows...

Praise God for no sunburns, heat sickness, dehydration, or injuries.

Keep those prayers coming.

Rachel for the whole team.
