Bio I
was born in Southern California on a Naval Base in the early 60's. Since my
father was a career naval officer, my family moved around quite a bit
while I was growing up. Over the years I have lived in California,
Alaska, Maryland, Bermuda, Virginia, North Carolina and now
Pennsylvania. I and my brother and sister grew up in a Christian
home; my parents always found a church for us to attend wherever we
lived.
I personally became a follower of Jesus Christ at the
age of 5 while a attending a Good News Club in our neighborhood.
As a teenager, I recommitted my life to Christ and grew in my faith
through involvement in Young Life and my church. I owe much of my
spiritual development to my Young Life leader.
I attended college at Virginia Tech, where I met my wife
at the freshmen mixer during the first week of classes. Laura and
I were involved in Campus Crusade for Christ and then in Young Life
leadership. We both graduated with business degrees .(We were married the summer that we
graduated) Following school, I worked in insurance and Laura
worked as a CPA. Our home church was Third Presbyterian Church in
Richmond, Va.
After college I felt the call to ministry and through the
guidance of our pastor I enrolled at Union Theological Seminary in
Virginia in 1989. I attended Seminary and graduated in 1992.
Our son was born while we were in seminary. (Before he was able
to speak, attended Greek class with me) Our first call to
ministry was to Pineland Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, NC. We
ministered to the Church in North Carolina for 6 years during which our
2 daughters were born. We were blessed at this
church with numerical and spiritual growth. For 5 and 1/2 years we were at Union Presbyterian Church. Here also we grew in our faith and the church has grew as well. My gifts in ministry are in the area of preaching and evangelism. I also have made a point to disciple people on a steady basis throughout my walk with Christ. I have passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with lost people showing them how to walk with the Lord. After serving at Union Presbyterian Church, God called me to be the pastor of Glade Run Presbyterian Church. I began serving Glade Run as Pastor beginning on January 13, 2004. My Goals for Glade Run are to establish a pattern of discipleship for all ages and to be more intentional about sharing Jesus Christ with folks who have never heard.
